Purchase the detective case file through our website. You’ll need 1 case file for 2-5 people.
You’ll receive an instant email with instructions and a game code.
Pick up your case file at Mr Tulk, the cafe next to the State Library of Victoria.
Be sure to check their opening hours.
Once all your team members arrived, it’s time to get started.
Open the case file and read the instructions.
You can use the game code from your email to log in to the detective portal.

Our outdoor escape game is played in Melbourne CBD.

The average time to complete is around 2-2.5 hours.
However, some teams do it faster and some teams prefer to have some stops along the way, and take longer.
Nope, no app required. All you need is a modern & fully charged smartphone, that has access to the internet.
You can open your browser to visit our detective portal, no app needed.
When you purchase City Discovery, you’ll get a physical case file and a game code to log in.
The pack costs $60 per team of 2-5 players.
Melbourne weather can have a mind of its own.
Luckily we’ve anticipated for this. If you haven’t logged in to the detective portal yet, you’re free to play any day/time that suits you.
Once you’ve logged in, you still have 14 days to complete the case.
All you need is a basic fitness level. It’s around 2.5km of walking to visit all locations.
If you choose the casual game mode, you can take as many breaks as you’d like. There’s no time limit.
We offer two options to play this game.
Casual means you can take your time, stop as often as you’d like, and don’t worry about the leaderboard. You do get a detective score, based on your result.
Competitive is for those who’d like to make it on to the leaderboard. Once you’ve logged in, the time starts ticking. Your result, and the total time required, will decide where you’ll be on the leaderboard.
The case file contains a physical map and a link to Goole Maps.
If you’re unable to find a location or an answer, hints are available.
Be careful though, as requesting hints does impact your detective score.
